Why we exist

Free QR services aren't really free.

Every "free" generator pulls the same trick: charge after 14 days, hide scan stats behind a paywall, brand your codes with their logo. We don't.

Them

The "free" QR sites

  • × Codes expire after 14 days unless you upgrade
  • × $10–25/month for stats and edits
  • × Bulk emails pushing the upgrade
  • × Their branding on your QR's redirect
  • × Account required just to download a static code

Us

Actually Free QR Codes

  • Static codes free forever, no signup needed
  • Short URLs that never expire (vs theirs at 14 days)
  • Create a free account to manage codes — every feature, free
  • Ads in the dashboard only — never on QR scans
  • Your QR is yours — no third-party branding

Make it yours

Boring QRs are optional.

Pick from preset styles, drop in any color, embed a logo. Print-ready PNG or scalable SVG — clean enough for a business card, sharp enough for a billboard.

How it works

Three steps, sixty seconds.

01

Paste a URL

Drop any link in. The QR code generates instantly in your browser.

02

Customize the look

Pick a style and color. Drop in your logo if you want to. The preview updates live as you tweak.

03

Yours forever

Download a PNG/SVG, or save it to your dashboard. Either way, the QR doesn't expire.

Honest economics

How can this actually be free?

We run on Cloudflare's edge for pennies. The dashboard you use to manage your codes shows small, unobtrusive ads. The QR codes themselves never carry ads. People scanning your codes never see anything from us. We keep your data private.

  • All features, $0
  • Up to 1,000 dynamic codes
  • No data sales, no upsells

FAQ

The honest answers.

Is this really free?
Yes. Static QRs need no account at all. Dynamic short URLs need a free account so you can manage them later — editable destinations, scan stats, custom slugs, up to 1,000 codes, all included. $0.
How do you make money, then?
Small, unobtrusive ads in the admin dashboard — the part only you see when managing your codes. People who scan your QR codes never see an ad from us, ever. Oh, and we don't share or sell your data either. We're not psychopaths.
Why do dynamic codes need an account?
Short URLs need an owner so we can handle abuse reports and let you edit the destination later. Creating an account is free and takes about ten seconds — that's it.
What if you shut down? Do my QR codes stop working?
Static QR codes (encoding your original URL) keep working forever — they don't depend on us at all. Dynamic short URLs at afqr.codes redirect through us, so yeah, those would break if our site went down.
What happens when I hit 1,000 codes?
Honestly, get in touch. We'd be thrilled to learn you're using us that much, and we'll figure something out. The cap exists to deter automated abuse, not to upsell you.
How long do you keep scan analytics?
Scan events (timestamp, country, user-agent) are kept for the last 90 days, then age out automatically. The dashboard shows daily counts and top countries within that window. We don't store IP addresses, and we don't drop a cookie on people scanning your codes — so analytics here are deliberately lightweight.
Can I use these QRs commercially?
Absolutely. Use them on packaging, posters, business cards, billboards. They're yours, no licensing strings.
